They saw this coming. But for the second time in two weeks, Sacramento Kings fans were still shaken by the news of a reported deal to sell the team to a group of Seattle-based investors. What is their morale? How are they feeling on the heels of the latest news of an attempt to move the franchise from California’s capital city?
Twitter, like talk radio, is usually a fitting medium that can be used to gauge fan sentiment and response. And so last night, I took to it to find out exactly how some fans in Sacramento and a handful of fans in Seattle digested last night’s news.

I recall the last game of last season, and listening to 1140 while everyone was pouring their hearts out on the radio. I remember Grant making what he thought was the last broadcast of the Sacramento Kings before they were to move to Anaheim.
Yet here we are. In Sacramento.
While the news is pretty bad, it’s not over. Not if mayor KJ and @CarmichaelDave have something to say about it. I still believe.

If the Kings receive a competitive bid from Sacramento and don’t take it, then that’s the ultimate “screw you” to the fans of Sacramento, and all their talk of caring for the fans goes out the window. The only way they can save any sort of face in Sacramento would be to sell locally.

What bitter people the Maloofs are that they wouldn’t even consider a bid from a local investor to keep the Kings in Sacramento. Actions speak louder than words and the Maloofs actions speak for themselves. They speak of deceit and dishonor. Why not hear multiple offers and see what offer is best? The Maloofs have been approached countless times over the past few years by groups interested in purchasing the Kings and keeping the team in Sacramento yet the Maloofs have always lied and said the Kings aren’t for sale. Really? The length that the Maloofs go to, to tell lies and be deceitful or disingenuous toward Sacramento and the Kings fans is despicable. It’s no wonder they have lost everything. Other than losing their businesses (their beer distribution center, the Palms casino and our beloved Kings) they lost something else? Something more valuable that money can’t buy… something that takes a life time to earn… They lost their respect and honor as civil human beings (not only in Sacramento and with the NBA but worldwide). They also lost whatever dignity their name meant (Once upon a time the Maloof name actually meant something… stood for something good and meaningful). It’s a shame their dad isn’t around to witness his boys destroy the Kingdom he built for them and to watch his family name being drug through the gutter over a few bucks. I wonder what he’s thinking?I may be poor but at least my word stands for something and I have some pride in myself for my accomplishments and most important I have respect and honor amongst my family, friends and peers. Something the Maloofs will never have… Something money can’t buy.

I feel you guys pain on this subject as a hornets fan. We came on the fringe of being taken by OKC. Who after being denied our team, murdered the Sonics fan base and stole their team through brutally painful lies. Just this past season, we were target #1 for relocation to Seattle, with 3 owners from outside of Nola not pledging to keep us here. But Tom Benson stood up and purchased us and saved our franchise. I pray KJ does the same for you. Don’t quit. Fight like we fought. Buy tickets, rally, call, do anything you can to fight for your team. We believe in you guys down here in NOLA. #HERE WE STAY
