The Sacramento Kings entered this season with promise. Now just three weeks into the new year, interest is waning while frustration is rising among the fanbase.
With all the uncertainty that surrounds this team off the court, dedicated Kings fans were just hoping for some semblance of improvement on it. Unfortunately, they haven’t gotten that. And instead, they’ve witnessed the regression of a relatively talented roster.
So, what’s bothered Kings fans the most through the first ten games? We took to Twitter to find out.

Isaiah thomas was never the answer. Sorry a midget for a point guard has never brought success to any nba franchise.( im a midget myself so has nothing to do with discrimination of shorter people. It is just a nba fact. Success does not come in small packages in the nba sorry. I like thomas robinson but building behind demarcus and a real point guard like the one that got away in portland would have been the smarter thing to do. Also it is obvious that coach smart does not want to give Jimmer a chance to run the point. Hey what does he have to lose. Jimmer is the only one of all the point guards that is willing to listen to the coach when it comes to running the offense. Im not saying he is the answer but what do you have to lose. Hey Kyrie Irving is no defensive demon either. At least you know Jimmer can put that ball in the basket and is probably the player with the highest IQ on the team other than Chuck Hayes.

How do know Jimmer can put the ball in the basket? He’s been very productive in a limited role this season, but his whole game is just as much dominated by isolation as ball dominant thornton and reke. He pulls up for jumpers, he doesnt come off screens efficiently, or use or even get the pick and roll. And for guy that everyone calls a team player, there’s clear ability to see he aint ought to make plays. Just because people are infatuated with him, doesnt mean he’s automatically the starting point and the next stephen curry. He’s been productive so far, and definitelt deserves to play over brooks, but Keith Smart’s terrible offensive system and rotations have hurt Isaiah alot. Isaiah torched NBA defenses in the pick and roll, and now smart is running a completely ineffective triangle offense. Isaiah got easy looks for himself and his bigs, especially DMC (which is important to get him some easy baskets) and boosted the whole team’s offensive efficiency, (even Tyreke shot around 48% with him as his starting teammate last year. This year Isaiah stand in a corner, DMC brings the ball up half the time and then stands at the three point line, and waits to pass it reke for like 10 seconds, than tyreke dribbles the ball for another 8 seconds and throws it in desperation to Isaiah in the corner who has to make a play with the shot clock going down. And his offensive efficiency as a scorer still aint bad considering the whole team was really struggling. His assist to turnover ratio was bad to start, but lsat two games he’s gotten that under control and probably will keep it t his usual high level. His defense is worse this year, but so has the whole teams been. And to say small point guards cant succeed is ridiculous, have you heard of hall of famers Isiah Thomas and tiny nate archibald? Isaiah chances are can have an overall career very similar to the season jeff teague or mike conley is having, as a mid high level point guard, with decent defense, three point shooting, 7 assists to 2 turnovers, and 14 to 15 points with efficiency. He deserves some blame for the struggles, but Smart shoudlnt make him his goat by kicking out of the starting line up when he deserves a lot more blame, and replacing him with a completely atrocious aaron brooks. Chances are Isaiah makes his way back, and the offense slowly develops again like last year, everybody finishes with similar number, the defense sucks again, we have mediocre record, and left with a bunch a question marks? Isaiah might not be the answer, but he’s definitely the smallest question mark at the point guard position. And to say Jimmer’s the only one who listens to his coach is stupid, who’s saying that Isaiah or Aaron dont listen? And what’s so great about Jimmer’s bball IQ, he’s a very mediocre playmaker, who demosntrates a lack of understanding of team defense, and takes tough shots, ( those are all signs of bad basketball IQ,). Lastly, the whole team sucks at defense and so do some point guards throughout the league, but Jimmer’s significantly worse, no doubt about it (i’m sure a large part of it is confidence) but opposing guards love to go against him.

Keith Smart has terrible rotations, when you’re bench players are shooting like 28% and 33% they shouldnt play. A rotation of 9 mediocre players is better than 12 scrubs. Also a shocking stat about this team, no one on the team is even close to the top 50 in assists this year, with David Lee at 50 with 3.5 dimes per game. 10 games is an eighth of an nba season, smart got an opportunity and he blew, Petrie blew it, Maloofs continue to blow theirs. Tyreke’s blowing ever shot he’s gotten since he was a rookie, DMC’s climb to stardom is extremely rocky, and ever other position on this roster is in shambles. Right when you think we got our backcourt of the future in reke and isaiah, both underperform and Smart implemements a retarted offensive system to make things worse.

” And for guy that everyone calls a team player, there’s clear ability to see he aint ought to make plays” First of all what the hell did you mean by this and second of all you clearly have some unexplicable love affair with Isaiah Thomas. Not trying to take away from thomas’ abilities or his hustle and his effort. All I am saying is that he is not the answer and he will never be as good as other point guards like Conley, Teague or any other point guards in that category. On top of that none of your aformentioned hall of famers you listed where 5’8 or below.not sure about Nate Archibald but anyways my point is made with the fact that perhaps other than him the NBA rarely sees midgets become hall of famers. Solid point guards they can be as was Mogsy Bogues but Never will Isaiah be any where near the level of any of the hall of famers you mentioned. He has heart I give you that, but if heart, dedication, and hard work was all it took then you would see a great deal more midgets breaking through to the NBA. Anyways never said Jimmer was the answer all I said what the heck give him a chance. Nothing could be worse than what we are seeing now. And if you are dumb enough not to see that the offense does flow a great deal more smoothly even though it may only be limited minutes when Jimmer has the ball in his hands than you don’t know basketball. As far as Tyreke,Smart and Big Cuz go you could go on forever.

You should listen to Cheekas. His basketball IQ is obviously much higher than yours.

I’m a Kings die-hard who lives in LA these days. Just purchases League Passfor the first time to catch as many Sacto games as possible. Two things stand out to me, watching from afar.
1) The obsession with Jimmer… Look, I want a great player like anyone else, but Jimmer is just not all that good. Rarely passes and when he does they’re telegraphed (even the no-look pass destinations are obvious). Needs the ball in his hands to score like Tyreke,Cousins, & Thornton, but doesn’t have an explosive first step like the three mentioned, so he can’t create his own shot like he did in the NCAA… I know Sac wants the white guy to succeed, but Id rather my team win basketball games instead.
2) The Kings MUST trade Tyreke Evans… Tyreke is has above-average NBA talent, there is no question. Tyreke Evans also has a below average Basketball IQ and hates to pass the basketball. Again, talent is great, but winning basketball games is even greater.

Oh, and Aaron Brooks is good people. Better than Jimmer and smarter than Tyreke. Back off of him.
