From Kingsflix: Day in the Life With DeMarcus Cousins

Nice video with a look into DMC and a typical day he had during the Vegas Summer League. He’s suffering from a busted lip (he busted his lip a few times during that week) so some of the talking seems very forced, strained and limited. But overall, it’s a fun look to see Daniel Shapiro controlling his diet and working on his conditioning.

Shapiro just needs to go away.

Egg-whites? Hello, the 1980s just called and wants its diet plan back.

Reverse flys with 5 pound dumbbells? F***ING retarded! We need DMC to be STRONGER, so how about some heavy squats and deads.

And remember that this is the guy who had Cisco doing presses on a swiss ball.

    What’s wrong with egg-whites?
heavy squats and deads before a game?

weight training isn’t body building for nba players, maybe you should take that into consideration

off topic, but since his name came up…. i wanna talk a little about cisco.

i’m a die hard kings fan. i was born with a webber jersey on so don’t take this entry as hating on the kings. i just want to know why francisco garcia has had this kind of tenure in the nba. he’s not really good at anything. he’s a below-par shooter (given the other names on the teams he has been with, he would be the last option i’d want taking a shot on the court) his defense is not intimidating and unnoticeable, he’s too skinny (breaks his wrist lifting weights!!!), he doesn’t have any sort of unique quality that would have me understand why he is taking up cap space on my fucking team.

can someone PLEASE tell me how/why he is ON THE KINGS ROSTER?!?!?!? are the kings really THAT bad to need to keep a player like him?

Garcia is a good shooter he shot at least 39% the last 3 seasons and 40% the year before last. He is a solid guy to bring off the bench for 15 minutes a game which he does. Also as far as bench wings go he is an above average defender. He can handle the ball and spot up for the open 3, and hassle a guy on defense when he comes off the bench, combine this with the hustle he displays and he is a very solid rotation player. This is why he is on the roster, and the injury last year was a freak accident where the exercise ball he was on exploded.

Hey Derrick, DMC was lifting lighter weights to warm up before the game. He can’t wear out his body before a game and burn to much energy.

i disagree Won. Cisco’s got game and he’ll have an important role next season. Double check his stats; he’s a solid career shooter and can spread the floor as an outside threat. He’s an above average defender, having been given the assignment of guarding some of the top 2-3′s in the league. He’ll hustle and he’ll give good minutes for us… likely off the bench. Sure, he doesnt excel in any particular aspect of his game, but he’s solid all-around. The guys like him on the team and he brings veteran leadership to a real young group of players. And also… “skinniness” has nothing to do with a dumbbell dropping on you as the ball you’re on explodes.

My bad, I watched most of that vid with the sound off. But I still would not have my player warm up for a game by doing bodybuilder-type exercises tiny weights.

And as far as Cisco goes, he’s a clutch shooter. He IS the guy they want to add. He just wasn’t healthy last year (THANKS, SHAPIRO).

I think you’re all blinded by your kings fan’ness, which is acceptable, but still…. we’re talking about francisco garcia here. He’s 6’7″ and 195 pounds. i repeat, 195 pounds (196 with shorts, shirt, and sneakers on). 6 years in the league and only produces eff of 9.00, he shoots a career avg of 37% behind the arc, which is nothing great or bad, but besides the stats, when i watch him play, it seems like he shoots 20%. also, the shots he takes are horrendous. He’s not a ball-mover. He’s a blackhole and I want to trade him for someone better. one more thing, and the most surprising fact, HE’S THE ONLY SG ON THE ROSTER. WTF!?!?!??! We have no 3 point threat on our roster (greene and caspi are normal shooters)
