    Woooooo! Yeah baby! THANK YOU PETRIE!! LET THE YOUNG-EN’S PLAY! YAY FOR CAPSPACE.

  • http://lakers.com Shaq

    What the hell? We traded Kevin for basically free capspace & table scraps? You gotta be kidding me.

    We didn’t even get to throw in ONE of our bad contracts (Nocioni, Beno, Garcia)????

    Also…do we really need another undersized 6’8″ forward????? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING GEOFF????

  • teknique

    it’s a sad day to see kmart go but it was inevitable. him and tyreke couldn’t mesh. what i can’t believe is what we got in return….nothing. landry is good, but he’s undersized as stated above. what’re the kings doing…freeing up cap space to sign bosh or amare!? sigh.

  • Mitchell Orm Clark

    Hey Zach Harper,

    Get your facts straight there buddy. I can’t count the amount of times I have seen you say NO / 0 % chance Martin gets traded on the TrueHoop network in the last couple days. You seem like someone who has a lot of great sources within the league.. NOT!… Maybe this is a chance for you to learn from a legitimate beat writer..? Jonathan Feigen covering the Rockets at chron.com is someone who comes to mind.

  • cwebb4ever

    the kings traded away a 20+ player for less…theve done this since trading cwebb…Geoff is making some awful decisions…whos really gonna play the two?

    @Mitchell Orm Clark
    Couple of things, Mitchell.

    1) I’m not a beat writer. I’m a blogger. COMPLETELY different things.
    2) I was going off of what had been said by the front office.
    3) As someone covering a team, there are times you have information that can’t go public. This was one of those times.
    4) This deal came out of nowhere on EVERYBODY covering the team.

    Other than that, thanks for the click on the site.

    Yeah, it’s sad but Kevin had to go, him and Evans definitely did not work. Still doesn’t mean we should have traded him for just cap space…

    I hope the reports floating around about the Knicks being involved with this are true. If we end up with the Knicks 2012 unprotected 1st AND/OR Jordan Hill, I’ll be very very happy. Make it happen Petrie.

  • GLDWD81

    I’m tired of hearing uninformed chatters saying that we got nothing in this deal. Carl Landry is a BEAST and he fills a need for the Kings- he is A PRODUCTIVE BIG MAN. He was the leading candidate for sixth man this year. Luckily for the Kings, he won’t be getting that award because he’ll be starting from now on. Do your homework before you rant!

  • Felix

    Jup, although it is a suprising trade, it still makes you look bad a bit, Zach

  • http://www.cowbellkingdom.com Zach Harper

    @Felix
    I’m more than happy to admit I was wrong on this one. Figured something could be up after the fourth quarter debacle Tuesday night but decided nobody would meet the Kings needs. Definitely thought Martin would be given the rest of the season.

    Regardless, this is a big deal for the Kings. Analysis posted soon.

  • Foxy

    Landry is the best player involved in the deal, AND WE GOT HIM! Best 4th-quarter scorer in the league this year, and he’s been better overall than Martin since his rookie year (look it up). Not sure how he could fit with Hawes (neither are great rebounders), but JT and Carl together is a great frontcourt. Watch out.

  • charleston

    You folks will not be disappointed by Landry. He puts out absolute effort and has the talent to compensate for a little less size.

    Man I tell you I’m going to miss him because by all accounts here in Houston he is also a great citizen, something we can never get enough of.

    Take care guys and I also think you should lighten up on your Zach Harper blogger. Also don’t get too enamored with Jonathan Feigen until you’ve heard his Bush league radio talk show. Seriously.

  • Scoot

    Martin is a great player but him and Evans are just not clicking at all. I just can’t see trading Martin for a bum like Landry and he’s just a okay player compared 2 Martin. The kings give away scoring for a undersized player, not only that they give away Rodriguez who is a great shooter and distributor. Along with Thomas who gives this young kings squad a veteran feel. And lastly u give away a great defender in Armstrong that could have brought this Sacramento team the defense that they might have needed down the road. Geoff what are u doing your giving away depth for nothing!!!

  • Felix

    Just to be clear, I always thought you were right, especially when people started screaming something like “MCGRADY FOR MARTIN AND THE FIRST PICK!!!!111!”

  • The7DeadlyVenomz

    Landry is no bum. He’s no star, but he’s better than Hawes or Thompson. Hilton Armstrong is not a strong defender – he’s not a strong anything. Kevin Martin will be missed, but honestly, he’ll be missed more in our hearts than in the scorebox. We’re very loyal people in Sacramento – sometimes we have to look ahead.

  • Todd

    Ease up on the dude who runs this site, he can use only info he gets and everyone thought the kings would stay pat. jeez

    @Zach Harper
    You say..
