@NBAFan
Up until this point Martin hasn't been an All-Star either. He has put up great, All-Star caliber numbers, but he hasn't stayed on the court long enough to even be in consideration. That isn't completely his fault and I hope he can stay healthy enough to earn that All-Star title in Houston. Of course, Allen Iverson was an All-Star this year, so maybe we need to not worry about that particular title and focus on what a player does or doesn't do.

Landry will never be an all-star? He was dead close this year and will only get better. I give him at least two career all-star games

The Kings received a "heck of a package"? Really? Looks like they only got back Carl Landry. Landry is a nice player, but he'll never be an all-star, which is what the Kings gave up. The net gain for the Kings may be positive because of the salary relief, but what they got back was not impressive. Maybe you meant to say, overall, this was a good trade for the Kings. If I was a Kings fan, I would be disappointed that they couldn't dump either Nocioni, Udrih, or Garcia in a Martin trade. What I take away from this deal is that the Kings are losing money...lots of it, and they didn't want to risk not being able to trade Martin this summer. I think they could have done much better if they waited. There are now a bunch of teams with cap space and they all can't sign a FA. Martin would have been attractive as a consolation prize.

@Donny Brasco
Eighth overall pick refers to Jordan Hill. He was the eighth overall pick in this past year's draft.
