The Kings would NEVER pick up the expiring contract of McGrady – that is for sure. Considering they got rid of Martin (timid, fragile, no defense and unneeded) and Kenny Thomas (unneeded), Armstrong (a unnecessary player) and Sergio (who at this time is more needed by others) for Carl Landry, who is outstanding and plays with desire is a plus. If they could acquire Lee, that would be terrific. It would help their big man problem, allow Thompson to play strong forward, allow Hawes to gain some maturing time (however I would like to see him traded) and have the team proceed to where they were before Martin returned. If they cannot get Lee and have to settle for Jeffries, that would give them an abundance of players at that position, but the big thing is they have been able to trade Martin and get good value. This is a plus for the Kings.
