@Andrew I always pictured Tyreke as more of a Christina Aguilera type. Never one of the best. But has some real talent and will get around just as much as Madonna and look better doing so.

Am i the only one who thinks tyreke evans is going to be the next madonna? Now I know she is white and all but they do share a very masculine body structure and a massive gap in their teeth. If Tyreke starts talking with a fake british accent and starts exposing his crotch for no reason, don’t say i didn’t warn you …

@GMP Atlanta drafted Boris as a point guard and failed miserable in trying to make him an NBA point guard, which is why his playing time was so inconsistent in Atlanta. Then they cut bait and traded him to Phoenix, where they realized he was a forward and that's when he broke out, especially in that system. The Penny comparison is interesting. Evans is about 30 lbs heavier than him and Hardaway was a much more natural point. But they have the same advantages with their length and driving ability.

The only person with his size that’s tried to come in and play PG is Boris Diaw? Boris never really even played point guard. But that fact aside, I don’t see them as remotely similar players. The much more apt and obvious comparison is Anfernee Hardaway, pre-injuries.

Good point about CP3 Zach. One reason he gets steals is that defenders from time to time forget he has longer arms for a guy as short as he is. (He’s the functional equivalent of 6’1 without actually being much taller than 5’11 without shoes.)

Nice writeup of the VSL. I didn’t really bother to watch for a variety of reasons (mostly cuz I didn’t really care), and am glad someone did. Thanks, again.

@Aykis16 I think that's a phenomenal point and something that Tyreke will definitely learn. His length is something that will allow him to check guys like Tony Parker and Chris Paul when he figures out how to truly play defense. He could easily be an All Defensive 2nd team guy for years.

Something I think Evans could learn to develop on the defensive end is something I’m going to call “false space”. Evans has the same wingspan as Blake Griffin in a shorter body. He’ll end up having to defend the point guards. If he can figure out how far it takes for him to contest a shot while making it look like the player has space to shoot, he could be deadly. His length will be deceiving.
